School DVD

Gaelscoil Chaladh an Treoigh launched our NASC DVD at the new Irish World Academy of Music and Dance (I.W.A.), University of Limerick (U.L.) 18th November 2010.
The DVD was launched by Mr. Don Barry President of U.L and Professor Mícheál Ó Súilleabháin Director of I.W.A.

NASC meaning join, link or bond together is a collaborative celebration of Irish language, music, song and dance and took seven months to complete from May to November 2010.

The twenty track DVD features over 221 children of Gaelscoil Chaladh an Treoigh, and 35 members of Cruinniú and Céim (student and staff members of U.L.).

Content ranged from Polkas, Slides, Hornpipes, Dance Sets and traditional songs to a unique rendition of Kookabarra, as Gaeilge, by Cór Scoile na nGaelscoil.

The project provided our pupils with a unique opportunity, in a wonderful setting, to experience and record the richness of their Irish culture and school days.

NASC is the first recording at the new I.W.A. and was filmed/recorded by students from CSIS Dept in U.L.

All proceeds from the sale of the DVD, priced at €10 each, go to Gaelscoil Chaladh an Treoigh.
