Regular attendance by pupils at school is key to their educational development and success. Our school aims to foster a culture of regular attendance at school for all pupils. Furthermore, we seek to identify and support those pupils who are experiencing problems with attendance at school. Formal and informal structures are in place in our school to monitor, report and evaluate patterns of non-attendance amongst pupils.

Guidelines for Parents:
The school must inform the National Education Welfare Board if a child is absent for 20 days or more. If your child is absent from school it is necessary to give a note to the class teacher upon return to school – the homework diary page 95-99 may be used for this purpose. The note should include date(s) of absence, reason for absence and be signed by the parent/guardian. If a pupil is to leave before official finishing time a sign-out sheet, held at the school office, must be completed.
